"Cholan gon gowazi" translates to "Playing with Waves" and that’s exactly what we are.passionate about!
At Playingwithwaves.org, we dedicate ourselves to connect coastal communities in Pakistan with the ocean, fostering a love for surfing, while ensuring safety in the water.
Since 2015, with the support of the surfing community in Southern England, we’ve been working to uplift local coastal areas through surf coaching and essential water safety training.
Our mission is to create a sustainable surf and beach safety program that empowers locals, promotes ocean awareness, and opens doors to new opportunities through water sports.

Aftab Aziz
Founder & Trustee
Aftab is a doctor from Karachi, Pakistan who learnt surfing from Patrick and his brother Dave.
He is passionate about surfing and life saving.
He wants to develop surfing and beach life safety skills across coastal belt of Pakistan.
His philosophy is to develop competitive surfing with safer beaches
Patrick Renaud
Co-founder & Trustee
Patrick is from Devon in UK. He is a dedicated & renowned surf coach and trainer assessor with Surf Lifesaving GB and International Surfing Association (ISA). He runs Surf Schools & Surf Life Saving Coaching Programs in the UK and internationally in collaboration with SurfGB & ISA. His philosophy is to spread goodness through high quality surf and beach life saving training
Khuda Ganj Shaad
Social worker &
National co-ordinator

Khuda Ganj Shaad is a seasoned local fisherman and social worker who has been onboard with this community project since start in 2015. His simple nature, honesty and integrity has earned our trust to coordinate our efforts breaking barriers across the coastal belt of Pakistan.
He wants youngsters to spread message of peace and prosperity through surfing and make his country famous.
Murtaza Sabir Ali

Murtaza Sabir is a graduate engineer who is not only full of passion to serve humanity as a co-founder of an NGO, but also displaying entrepreneurship in organic farming in Pakistan. He teamed up with us in 2017 to collaborate for this community initiative. His friendly attributes make him blend smoothly with everyone. He is keen to bring a change in the coastal communities of Pakistan through this project.
